Our Capability
From structural work to the final detail.
Rochford Art manages the complete construction process for substantial residential refurbishments, renovations and alterations.
Our experience spans period properties, listed buildings, lateral apartments and contemporary homes, often involving extensive structural changes, technically demanding installations and highly detailed interior schemes.

05
Home Automation Integration
We work alongside specialist consultants to integrate lighting control, AV, security, communications and automated systems into the finished home.
06
Specialist Finishes & Interior Detailing
Experienced teams coordinate fine materials, specialist finishes and intricate detailing essential to exceptional residential interiors.
Complete Project Delivery
The value lies not simply in managing each discipline, but in understanding how every element affects the others — and the quality of the finished home.
The Rochford Approach
Construction is only successful when the details work together.
On a complex residential project, individual trades cannot operate in isolation. Every decision has an impact on the architecture, building services, joinery, finishes and ultimately the quality of the finished home.
Our role as main contractor is to understand those relationships before they become problems on site.
That means asking questions early, coordinating closely with the professional team and maintaining an uncompromising focus on the finished result throughout construction.
01
Lighting
A lighting detail affects the ceiling, electrical layout, decorative finishes and surrounding architectural elements.
02
Building Services
An air-conditioning grille or ventilation route can affect the joinery, ceiling design, structure and room proportions.
03
Materials
A stone junction affects floor build-ups, thresholds, adjacent finishes, interfaces and installation sequencing.
04
Architectural Detail
A door detail affects the wall finish, ironmongery, surrounding joinery, shadow gaps and the quality of the final installation.
Coordination Matters
The difference is rarely one dramatic decision. It is hundreds of carefully coordinated details coming together exactly as intended.
For Architects & Interior Designers
Your design. Our responsibility to realise it.
Rochford Art has longstanding relationships with architects, interior designers, engineers, technology consultants and specialist professionals working across prime residential projects.
We can become involved during pre-construction, respond to a competitive tender or join the project through a negotiated appointment.
Whichever route is appropriate, our objective remains the same: to protect the design intent while providing the construction knowledge, technical coordination and project management required to deliver it successfully.
We understand that a successful contractor does more than follow drawings. It requires constructive dialogue, early identification of potential issues, realistic programming and the ability to find solutions without compromising the quality of the scheme.
Work With Rochford →01
Pre-construction & Tendering
Reviewing scope, drawings, specifications, programmes and construction requirements before work begins.
02
Buildability & Technical Coordination
Working with the professional team to resolve interfaces, sequencing, technical details and construction methodology.
03

Maintaining visibility over progress, procurement and project decisions throughout the construction process.
04
Quality & Specialist Coordination

For Private Clients
A highly personal project deserves a highly accountable team.
Refurbishing a significant home can involve hundreds of decisions, numerous specialist contractors and a professional team working across different disciplines.
Our responsibility is to bring that complexity together into one carefully managed construction process.
Every Rochford Art project has an experienced in-house team overseeing the construction, communication and coordination required to move the project forward while maintaining focus on quality and the finished home.

One Rochford
Construction and joinery working as one.
One of Rochford’s strongest advantages is the ability to bring our construction and joinery teams together within the same project.
Where Rochford Art acts as main contractor and Rochford Joinery manufactures the bespoke furniture and architectural joinery, both teams can coordinate from the earliest stages of technical development.
Site conditions, dimensions, building services, material interfaces, sequencing and installation can all be considered together rather than passed between separate contractors.
The result is greater control over the detail and a clearer route from the architect or designer’s intent through to the finished interior.

Technical Development
Joinery details are developed alongside the construction, architecture and building services rather than in isolation.
02
Site Coordination
Dimensions, interfaces and installation requirements are coordinated directly between our site and workshop teams.
03
Programme & Manufacture
Workshop production can be planned around the wider construction programme and the readiness of individual areas on site.
04
Installation & Finish
The same team remains closely involved through installation, final finishing and the resolution of adjoining details.
Integrated Delivery
Fewer interfaces between contractors means clearer responsibility, stronger coordination and greater control over the details that define the finished interior.
How We Work
Clarity from appointment to handover.
Complex residential construction demands careful planning, clear responsibility and constant coordination. Our process is designed to give clients and professional teams confidence at every stage, from pre-construction through to completion and aftercare.
01
Pre-construction
We begin by understanding the property, design intent, scope, programme, budget and wider consultant team. Where appointed early, we provide practical construction input and identify areas requiring further technical development before work begins.
02
Planning & Coordination
Drawings, specifications, procurement requirements, specialist packages and sequencing are carefully reviewed. Responsibilities are established and the construction programme is developed around the practical demands of the project.
03
Construction
An experienced Rochford project team manages the site, trades, suppliers and wider professional team throughout the build. Progress, quality, sequencing and upcoming decisions are continually reviewed rather than left until the end of the programme.
04
Finishing & Installation
As construction moves towards completion, attention increasingly shifts to the details that define the finished interior. Joinery, stone, decoration, ironmongery, lighting and specialist finishes are carefully coordinated through the final stages.
05
Handover & Aftercare
The property undergoes detailed inspections before handover, with outstanding items managed through to completion. Our relationship does not end when the project finishes; the Rochford team remains available to provide ongoing support and aftercare.
One Accountable Team
Clear communication, careful coordination and consistent oversight from the first construction decision through to the finished home.

Yes. Our portfolio includes substantial work to period and listed London properties, including technically complex refurbishments involving structural alterations, extensions and underpinning.
Yes. Rochford Joinery operates from our own North London workshop and can manufacture individual pieces or extensive architectural joinery packages alongside a Rochford Art construction project.
Yes. We regularly coordinate mechanical and electrical systems, lighting, climate control, AV, security, communications and other specialist home technology alongside the architecture, interiors and bespoke joinery.
Because many of our residential projects are private, only a selection can be shown publicly. Where client permission allows, we can present additional work privately and may be able to arrange a visit to a completed Rochford project.
Every project is different. If you are considering a substantial residential refurbishment, we would be pleased to discuss the property, design and appropriate route to appointment.
